Academic & Co-curricular Achievements

In keeping with the tradition, the School once again produced outstanding board results this year.

ICSE (10) – An Outstanding Show

In ICSE(X), 163 students appeared in the Exam, out of which 64 secured more than 90% 76 scored between 80 to 90%, 16 between 70 to 80% and 7 between 60 to 70%.

In Science:

  • Navodita Kandari topped the School with 96.8%.
  • Vijay Laxmi Pal was declared 2nd with 96.6%.
  • Prashant Uniyal & Sukriti Uniyal were joint 3rd with 96%.

Commerce Stream:

  • Pearl Gupta topped the School with 96.2%.
  • Bharat Agarwal was declared 2nd with 95.2%.
  • Anushree Joshi was declared 3rd with 95%.

ISC (12) –

In class XII (ISC), 99 students took the Exam, out of which 21 secured more than 90%, 45 scored between 80 to 90%, 27 between 70 to 80% and 6 between 65.3 to 70%.

Science Stream:

  • Dinkar Juyal topped the School with 95.3%.
  • Ankita Pundir was declared 2nd with 95%.
  • Stuti Ramola was declared 3rd with 93.8%.

Commerce Stream:

  • Angad Ghai topped the School with 91.3%.
  • Shivam Agarwala was declared 2nd with 90%.

It's not only the academics where the Summervalians excel, students have shown tremendous commitment in every field they participated in.

Extra-curricular Activities

TCS-IT WIZ quiz

The school represented by Dinkar Juyal and Vinayak Sharma participated in TCS-IT WIZ at Lucknow where more than 120 teams took part, the school was declared 'Runners Up' and both the participants won Lap Tops.

Inter school computer quiz

In 'Inter-School Computer Quiz' organized by Dehradun Chapter of the Computer Society of India, ONGC, the School team comprising of Dinkar Juyal, Vinayak Sharma, Kanishka Bhandari and Kartikeya Singh won the Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 10000/-.

Inter School Power Point Presentation

The school represented by Shubham Kumar, Samanvay Pant, Prarbdh Ranjan and Aaroh Dhoundiyal participated in the Inter School Power Point presentation at St. Judes, the school was declared winner.

Mindspree

The School team, comprising of Dinkar Juyal, Kartikeya Singh, Shubham Kumar and Navodita Kandari won the Academic Quiz Mindspree organized by St. Jude's School.

Limca book of records quiz

In 'Limca Book of Records Quiz' organized by Derek O'Brien- the team comprised of Aman Chandola and Sreya Kumar Tyagi, the school was placed 3rd.

Quintessence

Quintessence - The Inter-School Quiz organized by Summer Valley, the school secured the Second position.

Eureka

In 'Inter-School Science Quiz- Eureka' organized by Welham Girls' High School, school won the competition.

RIMC challenge Quiz

In 'RIMC Challenge Quiz' & 'Rajeev Khanna Memorial Inter-School Quiz'- the School team was placed 2nd.

Bournvita Open Quiz

In Bournvita Open Quiz at Kolkata organized by Derek O' Brien, the school represented by Ishaan Thapa of class VII and Shrey Kumar Tyagi of class VIII reached the Quarter Finals.

Quiz by SRM University

Dinkar Juyal and Kartikey Singh represented the school in Quiz organized by SRM University, we were declared 'Runners Up'.

Quiz By Science Olympiad Foundation

At 10th NCO organized by Science Olympiad Foundation, Nikita Negi and Kartikeya Singh secured an All-India rank of 306 and 376 respectively and won a cash prize of Rs.250/-.

Frank Anthony Memorial

In Frank Anthony Memorial our teams in Category I and II, we qualified for the next round.

11th Asian Challenge Inter School English debate

In 11th Asian Challenge Inter School English debate, the school won the trophy. Dhruv Joshi was adjudged as the best speaker. He also won a cash prize of Rs.5000/-

WC Kashyap Memorial Inter-School English Debate

In WC Kashyap Memorial Inter-School English Debate, the school was declared Runners Up. Garima Panwar was awarded 1st runner-up prize and Dhruv Joshi won a consolation prize.

Inter School Extempore Debate

In the Inter School Extempore Debate at St. Jude's School, Dhruv Joshi was adjudged as the Best Speaker and the school won the debate.

Summer Valley School Inter School Debate

In Summer Valley School Inter School Debate, Dhruv again was declared the best speaker.

Inter School Debate by Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy

In Inter School Debate organized by Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy, the School team comprising Dhruv Joshi and Garima Panwar won the trophy. Dhruv Joshi was declared as the Best Speaker.

Summer Valley Inter-School Hindi Debate

In the Inter-School Hindi Debate organized by the Summer Valley School, Gauri Sharma and Sugandha Khaitan represented the school. The school won the trophy.

RIMC- Inter-School Hindi Debate

In the Inter-School Hindi Debate organized by RIMC, Akansha Juyal won the debate and the school was placed 3rd.

Sports

Table Tennis- In the '10th Hemlata Kohli Memorial Uttarakhand State Table Tennis Championship, S. Wasu Memorial Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament , Dehradun Council Schools TT tournament, Hot weather district Table Tennis tournament- in all the above mentioned table-tennis tournaments team comprising- (U-17 and U-19) Akshay Dabral, Akash Gupta, Suraj Rana, Nimish Latiyan, Pankaj Goel & Shobhit Dangwal, Amogh Routela & Sidhant Sisodia(U-14) Girls: Tina Rawat, Vanshika Saxena(U-14) ….. all these player brought laurels to the school and helped the school in winning all the titles. Our sincere thanks and congratulations to Mr. Prince, players and the parents for the wonderful achievements.

Basketball-

  • In the District Basketball Championship for Under 14, 15 and 16 we reached the Semi final.
  • In the Inter School WC Kashyap Basketball Tournament we reached the Final.
  • In 3x3Basketball Tournament our team reached the quarter-final.
  • Pulkit Singh, Divya Kumari, Debanshu Bose, Trishna Baishya and Beenu Virmani played for Under 18 and for Under 16 Pulkit, Priyanshu, Debanshu, Keshav Jalan, Anant Vijay Singh Rana, Amina, Divya Kumari and Prabhjit Virmani represented Dehradun district and won their respective title.
  • Pulkit Singh and Beenu Virmani played for Under 18, Divya Kumari and Debanshu Bose played for Under 16 and Arjun Malik, Vishesh Chikara, Harshul and Swati Negi represented the state and performed very well.

Soccer-

  • In the Council Schools Soccer Tournament, we reached the Quarter-finals.
  • In the ONGC Soccer Tournament, we reached the Quarter-finals.
  • In the Col Shashi Samsher memorial Soccer Tournament, we reached the Semi-finals.

Cricket-

  • In Council Cricket we reached the Semi-finals.
  • In supper 8 Cricket tournament organized by The Heritage School, we reached the finals. Yuvraj Cheema was declared as the man of the match in the finals.

Badminton-

  • In the 'Open Badminton Championship organized by The Doon School, Vibhor Papneja won the Under-19 single's title and Aditya Panwar won the under-16 title .
  • In District Badminton Tournament- For Under 13: Shubham reached the finals, Anurag and Debashish reached the Quarter finals. Rushil and Debashish in doubles reached the Semi-finals. For Under 19: Shivam and Shivanshu reached the Pre Quarter finals.
  • St Georges Tournament- For Under 14: Team reached the Semi-finals. 
    For Under 18: Team reached the Semi-finals.

Shooting-

  • The team comprising Pritam Singh Sajwan, Shabnam Yasmin Choudhuy, Rashmika Das and Ishita Sajwan participated in the Inter State Shooting Championship. All of them performed very well and got selected for the next round.
  • In all India Inter school nationals, Shabnam Yasmin, Rashmika Das, Pritam Sajwan qualified for the Pre-nationals held at Guwahati, after which Pritam Sajwan further qualified for all India Nationals held at Delhi and became an ISSF player. Great achievement Pritam- kep it up.
  • The team comprising Pritam Singh Sajwan, Shabnam Yasmin Choudhuy, Rashmika Das and Ishita Sajwan participated in the Inter State Shooting Championship at Pune. We were placed 4th out of 16 schools which participated. They further qualified for the Pre-nationals held at Ahmedabad. Pritam again qualified for All India trials to be held in November at Pune. Well done shooters and keep it up.
  • Our Ex-student Albha Oberoi represented the country in the junior category and won the silver medal.

Tennis-

Utkarsh Bhardwaj of class VIII, Won Talent Series at Panchkula, won State Championship at Dehradun both in singles and doubles and Runners up in 'Supper Series' at Chandigarh. His present national ranking 15.
